Is Christ "cool"? some thoughts.

"Calling the Lord Jesus Christ a “construction worker” is limiting to his Glory…
It does not do WHO HE IS justice nor bring glory to his name.
But it makes him seem kind of cool to the guys in the crowd who want their church lifestyle
and their Christian identity to be…. Cool."  -as stated in a blog I read:

My thoughts:

I don't think Jesus could care less about his perceived coolness, and He wasn't Gladiator,
He is God. Willing to treat women with dignity and respect, interacting with people as equals
(though He is God), willing to lay down his life for his friends, willing to care for his family
as was right and appropriate.

We cannot superimpose our view of manliness on Him, nor did he have a wife that women
should emulate, rather Jesus shows us who we are created to be, and the masks don't matter,
our money doesn't count; we are loved in our humanity, no matter what our brokenness or strength.

Simply:  Jesus is the epitome of humanness in its truest form. He stoops down from his eternally
rightful place as God and in his humble humanity he shows us who we are created to be.

Being "cool" or culturally relevant is simply never on his agenda; love is,
and oftentimes love is counter-cultural, though never irrelevant.

"Religion loves to correct what you said, Relationship just wants to know why you said it? One cares for the law; the other cares only for the heart!"
